Food For Thought: The August 2011 issue of Esquire Magazine features an article written by Tom Parker Bowles, son of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, regarding his recent trip to Manila in search of the world’s great hidden cuisine.

You love Indian.You kill for Chinese. You dig Thai. You go out for Korean, stay in for Japanese. And there’s a great little Vietnamese place round the corner. Ever had a Filipino? Us neither. Here’s the thing: you know me — I hate the Filipino culture mostly, for several reasons. But there are VERY FEW things I can be proud — and one of them is the FOOD. Trust me when I say that we have some of the BEST food in the WORLD.

Haven’t heard of Filipino food? That’s coz the people who’ve tried it keep it a secret. They want it all to themselves.

You’d have to taste it to believe it.
